When I started taking a dual major in English and Linguistics at Cal State Fullerton, I had no idea what I was getting into. Unbeknownst to me, the year I graduated, Cal State Fullerton made U.S. News and World’s Report for the top 20 hardest grading schools in the United States. My upper-division English professors must have gotten the memo because they made my coursework very challenging.
Since graduating from Cal State Fullerton, I have had the privilege to work with numerous companies, both in B2B as well as B2C, in healthcare, and in other roles such as Lead SEO and Technical SEO. I have been actively involved in SEO and writing content for the web for well over 20 years.
Working with multiple companies on their messaging in the B2B space is especially challenging, as it requires a completely different mindset than the B2C space. While the sales cycle for B2C can be as short as a few minutes (impulse buying), it is the rare business that drops $50K on an industrial freezer on a whim. The sales cycle is longer, and information that customers find online is becoming much more important, according to a recent Gartner study.
